What is behind a love story? What is risked, inspired or destroyed? A man, a woman. An erotic exchange - tender and harsh, a spiritual journey. To love is impossible, yet we can do nothing but love.

To write this Dialogue, I took my inspiration from the 22 major Arcanas of the Tarot of Marseille. Once the text was written, I tried to forget the cards and began to shoot totally new images: a rock in the middle of a river in the Ardèche Mounts, a kite flying upon Central Park, the walls of an old chapel in the Spanish Basque Country, an abandoned merry-go-round or an écorché staring at us in a glass window in Paris… Strong images I was not expecting came from my journeys across Europe and the United States, and all these images reflected in a mysterious, poetic and unpredictable way the lovers’ secret...

The music I composed for the film is also a journey into a new, unexpected world of sounds, through a new born instrument : the gravi-kora (an electric kora created by the American musician Robert Grawi).
