Hello, what's up, and Bill Boyle's Personalized Workshops :)

Thanks for sharing the Christmas party photos - it looks as if you guys had a blast! Your new site looks very professional and user friendly - I'm going to have to delve deeper.

An answer to a previous question - I've just finished rewriting one of my screenplays and have started the submission process. It's quite interesting actually. I have several more to be rewritten and lots of new ideas. My favorites are fiction twisted with history - I think the past is so full of incredible happenings that the supply is endless - it's a spring board to creating even more interesting stories.

I've worked through the UCLA online program and connected with some amazing writers. I'm also doing some workshop coordination for an awesome script coach from UCLA - Bill Boyle. He's coming into town to do some personalized workshops on Jan 30th and 31st. I've attached a flyer if you're interested in checking it out - it doesn't translate onto this blog that well - but here is the info.

Script Analysis of your
Screenplay’s First 10 Pages
With
Award Winning Screenwriter
Bill Boyle

The Holiday Inn Express
728 16th St.
Sacramento, CA 95833

Saturday, January 30th to Sunday, January 31st

Enrollment Limited to 12 Screenplays

A Script Analysis of the first ten pages of your screenplay is an excellent tool in your screenplay’s development. It can often get to the core of any weaknesses in the script in the earliest stages. This is the also the case for completed screenplays. If you go back to the first ten pages you will likely find the answer to whatever problems have a risen.

Many industry readers, producers and executives will make their evaluation of your screenplay within the first ten pages. This is another indication of how important these pages are.

I have found that most writing or structural problems will have revealed themselves within the first 10 pages.

By working these pages they can serve as a boiler plate for the writer to complete or rewrite the remainder of their script.

o Each Analysis includes up to 6 pages of typed doubled spaced notes, which include in-depth analysis of script strengths, weaknesses and marketability.
o Specific feedback will be given in the following areas;
o Formatting and mechanics
o The impact of the first image
o The Visual Mindscape of the script
o Narrative flow and pacing
o Character introductions and development
o Dialogue
o Scene structure
o Marketability
o Each Analysis also includes a 60-minute face to face session to discuss the analysis and offer suggestions for improvement.
