Here I am at the Cine Soul event in Sacramento at the Guild Theater. All of Sacramento's movie movers and shakers were in atendence for film panels, movie shorts and an after party! There is so much untapped talent in this city and the California Film Foundation does its best to highlight that talent. I saw a few shorts before I had to step out, but here are two mini reviews:
The first film to be shown is Code: Love directed by. The film is about a couple dealing with shame and rejecting in a relationship. The film is about 4 minutes long and shows how conflict can resolve itself between couples.
Next is the Helen Lindsey Story Mike Ray. The film chronicles the life of Helen Lindsey a woman who batteled severe menigitis. This resulted in having her leg and hands amputated. In addition, she was diagnosed with cancer. Despite all of this, Helen has managed to live life by continuing in activities such as house work, and playing the drums. She is now caner free and moving forward living everyday life.
The production values for these films is phenominal. The directors, artist, and script writers bring their A-game. It shows that Sacramento is really on the rise in being a force to be reckoned with. Stay tuned for more updates on the Cine Soul Flm event!
