Director's Statement
A while ago, I read a true story about a woman who served Oleander tea to her sister for several months. The Oleander is one of the most poisonous of commonly grown plants. The plot was to kill her sister without a trace so that she could collect her insurance money. After further research, I learned that in ancient Asia, people often offered chopsticks made of Oleander plants to poison someone they hated over a period of time.
After I read this story, I thought to myself, what if I could recreate the story to fit our modern day with a reverse ending, since people in today’s society seem to express hatred more extreme than in the past.
As a result, I made a film about a man who had so much hatred towards his boss that he strategically came up with a scheme to murder him. I wish and hope people can learn from my film how to deal with this hatred.
