Pitch Synopsis :
Twenty years ago in Badlands preteen Freddie Black Elk under gunfire is driven into blizzard storm of century by criminal father and enforcers. Fate saves Freddie through kind-hearted farmers who save his life. Seeking West refuge, FEDS then force him to infiltrate casinos as undercover informant.
Ten years later, Hispanic Donnie Right heads family when both father and brother are killed by DWI rich banker Gerry Plentiful. Hero Donnie helps surviving mother, sister, and day laborers who travel from Ensenada Mexico into America to feed impoverished families.
Dopplegangers Freddie and Donnie’s eventual intersection occurs in local bank robbery where police charge innocent Donnie for felony murder committed by Freddie. At trial crackerjack defense proves misidentification by bank employees.
In ironic Greek tragic style, story ends when all three principals die: exonerated Donnie tragically in police profile gone wrong; Freddie’s cover is blown and drunk banker drives one time too many.
