“Not Your Year” is a comedy that takes place in the local music scene. It’s about a guy who got rich quick and then lost it all just as fast, and how he’s deeply affected by the two strong women who lift him up after the fall. As Ben (music entrepreneur), Claire (music lover), and Melissa (oddball artist), pursue their very different goals, their lives repeatedly intersect in surprisingly powerful ways. The film tells a funny, entertaining, positive story. It’s a “feel-good” film that celebrates music, art, and creativity.
Laurels, awards and other accomplishments:
I have written and produced three feature films, directing two of them. “Her Minor Thing,” a romantic comedy I wrote and produced in Sacramento, achieved 50 distribution deals around the world on TV and DVD (U.S., Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Japan, Australia, etc.). In the U.S., the film aired on Showtime, Starz, The Movie Channel, Women’s Entertainment, and pay-per-view channels nationwide. “Her Minor Thing” had its world premiere at the prestigious Seattle International Film Festival. The film’s world TV premiere was on TF1, the #1 broadcast network in France. My first film, “Someone Like You,” a micro-budget romantic comedy I wrote/produced/directed in Sacramento, made seven international distribution deals (Germany, Australia, etc.). I have also written print materials or produced videos for HP, Intel, CBS Radio and other big-name companies. When I worked in radio, I wrote nearly 300 commercials (mostly humorous). When I lived in Los Angeles, I read screenplays for several top film production companies, including Silver Pictures and Michael Douglas’ company.
