Students are guided, supervised, and evaluated by health industry professionals. At UC Davis, health-related internships require a minimum 4 hour time commitment per week, for a ten week duration. How to Find Health-Related Internships Fieldwork at Capella consists of practica and/or internships. They're similar in that they offer onsite experiences in the field. The main difference between the two is at what point they take place during your program, and whether they are full- or part-time. Other requirements, such as number of hours for completion, vary by program. Practicum Sites The Department of Counselor Education has approved the following sites at which students may complete their practicum and internships. Please contact the clinical supervisor, Dr. Williams, to discuss sites not listed in the manual. Practicum and Internship Manual Apply for Practicum Program Hours. All our interns will complete a total of 1024 hours of supervised practice, which is about nine months of supervised practice at 32 hours per week. Each intern completes our Core Curriculum, which consists of 864 hours in clinical, community, and foodservice management rotations, and 160 hours in one of the concentrations we offer.
