That set me on a search that lead me to conclude that the Yaesu FP1023, the Kenwood KPS-15 and the Samlex 1223 are all essentially the same device. Tom, N0SS has a schematic of the Samlex. That document also includes a couple of photos that show the striking similarity. The ARRL (members only) January 2000 review of switchers states "The Yaesu I use an MFJ-1164B AC Line RFI Filter followed by a Corcom 6FC10 line filter into a Kenwood KPS-15 power supply to occasionally power my Kenwood TS-480. There's still a couple S units of extra noise. I see the most noise on 40m, haven't tried with 80m,but have made QSO's on 40m.
