CALL TO ACTION THIS WEDNESDAY
Film Community,
WE NEED YOU !
This Wednesday two FCC commissioners will be in Sacramento to listen to the public on what could be the only such hearing prior to a vote on NET NEUTRALITY. .
A PRIMER:
What is Net Neutrality? In short it is the concept that regardless of what it is (video/data or other), all internet traffic needs to be treated equally. Currently, providers
like Comcast, Verizon and ATT are prohibited from picking and choosing which website customers can access. So sites considered to be “data hogs” like Net Flicks can't simply be slowed down because they use more data.
The proposed changes set up a scenario of haves and have nots; a scenario in which those companies who have the money will get a fast lane. It means that the few companies who can afford to get on the “Fast lanes” win. Everyone else? Well, you get the picture.
Now where are YOU going to be this Wednesday? Are you going to be at the capital with CFF!
MUST KEEP NET NEUTRALITY!
What: Net Neutrality Forum When: Wed., Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. Where: Hearing Room 4202, California State Capitol, Sacramento
