A free online notepad that runs in the browser is handy when you just need to type something down quickly. This plain text editor needs no installation and no login, so you open it and start writing right away. Notes autosave every second, even if the browser crashes, so your text stays safe. Find and replace helps when you tidy up a draft, and the built-in spellcheck flags typos as you go. It suits quick ideas, homework notes, code snippets, journal entries and blog drafts, all in a clean interface.
