A man who has succumbed to mediocrity sheds the trappings of his ordinary life by embracing the lightness of his being. Ascension of an Ordinary Man is intentionally an uncomplicated and lighthearted framework that sharply contrasts the complicated and weighty issues it aims to present, namely the pressures of ordinary modern life, society's avarice, and the ultimate weighty question of who we are individually and in relation to our universe.
My thanks to USC SCA and particularly, Mr. James Savoca for his insight and guidance.

Strategic cinematography and editing delicately unravels the moral strengths and deficiencies of the lead characters in sharp contrast to their tangibly violent reprisal. On a universal level, 1st Stringers affirms the equilibrium between good and evil within our morality. On an intimate level, 1st Stringers challenges blind deference to authority and the social belief that athletes are crowned by a golden halo.
